The XRP Ledger (XRPL) is a public blockchain — kind of like a giant shared notebook that anyone in the world can check, but no single person or company can secretly edit. It was built in 2012 and is one of the fastest, cheapest blockchains around.
Two things make it great for art:
NFTs (non-fungible tokens) on XRPL are unique digital items — like my scribble artwork — that live on this ledger. When you "own" one, your wallet address is recorded as the owner, permanently and verifiably.
The currency used to pay these tiny fees (and to buy art) is called XRP. You'll need a small amount of XRP in your wallet just to interact with the ledger, even before buying anything.
A wallet is an app that holds your XRP and NFTs, and lets you sign (approve) transactions. You control it — not me, not an exchange, not anyone else. Two great beginner-friendly options:
The most established XRPL wallet — millions of users, self-custody (only you hold your keys), and built specifically for XRPL apps like XRP Cafe and IMCollectibles.

Most people buy XRP on an exchange first, then move it to their self-custody wallet (Xaman/Joey). Here's the general flow using Coinbase as an example — other exchanges (Kraken, Crypto.com, etc.) work similarly:
Once your XRP shows up in Xaman or Joey (usually within seconds to a couple minutes), you're ready to collect art!
When you visit a site like IMCollectibles or XRP Cafe and click "Connect Wallet," here's what actually happens:
When you buy an NFT or place a bid:
The XRPL community is friendly, but scams exist everywhere in crypto. A few habits will keep you safe:
That's it! Once you hold one of my pieces, you're part of the collector community. Tag me on X with your latest acquisition! I would love to thank you for your support and celebrate with you! ✦
